In Ontario a mobile crane rated over 16,000 lbs requires a certified operator. Only the three smallest machines here sit below that line, and the IC-80 is not one of them. More on choosing between crane types.
Load charts
Every carry deck crane has a headline capacity, and it is almost never what is available on your job. Four things reduce it.
Give us the weight, the radius, whether the machine can set up on outriggers, and whether the load has to travel. We hold current charts for every model and will send the relevant one before you book.

Engine options
Broderson offers dual fuel and LPG configurations across much of the range, and we carry LPG-configured units in Ontario. On indoor work that is not a preference, it decides whether a machine can operate at all.
LPG burns cleaner than diesel. Where that matters is anywhere the ventilation system was designed around a fixed equipment fleet and adding a machine changes the calculation.
Talk to whoever owns your ventilation plan before specifying a fuel type. Ask us for engine specification and emissions data early.
Choosing a model
Most people work backwards from the load weight alone. On this kind of work the doorway, the turn and the floor rule out more machines than the tonnage does.
Four things settle it. The lowest clearance anywhere on the route including where the machine turns, what the floor carries under both tyres and outriggers, how far the load sits from the machine, and whether it has to travel or only be lifted.
What they lift
Setting production equipment onto its foundation inside a building that is already full.
Motors, gearboxes and drives outside overhead crane coverage. Often the lift is the crane itself.
Low headroom, restricted ventilation, floors that are muck rather than slab.
Fixed windows with penalties attached, where availability is part of the plan.
Congested pipe racks and confined areas with nowhere to set up a conventional crane.
When something fails mid-production and the line cannot wait on a lead time.

A compact, self-propelled crane with a 360° rotating boom mounted over a flat load deck. The rotating boom lets it pick from one side and set on the other without repositioning, and the deck means the load rides with the machine. A single unit can collect a component at the door, carry it down the aisle and place it on the foundation, which on most jobs would otherwise take a forklift and a crane.
That is what they are built for. These machines are low enough to travel through a plant doorway and work in bays where a mobile crane cannot deploy outriggers. The practical questions for indoor work are door and overhead clearance along the whole route, floor loading under both the tyres and the outriggers, and whether the engine type suits your ventilation. LPG configurations exist for exactly that last point.

In Ontario, a mobile crane rated over 16,000 lbs requires a certified operator, and at or below that rating none is required. In this range the IC-20, IC-35 and IC-40 sit below the line. Everything from the IC-80 up is above it. The threshold is the machine's rated capacity, not the weight of the load on the day, so renting a larger machine for a light load still puts you above it.
